We are actively engaged in European-funded initiatives such as Motivate XR and INSIDE-CoVE, driving innovation and transformation in the aluminium sector.
Our involvement ranges from pilot end-user to programme coordination, allowing us to contribute meaningfully to Europe’s priorities in sustainability, soft skills development, and cross-border collaboration. These programmes position us at the intersection of industry and innovation, working alongside leading universities, research institutions, and key industry players across Europe.
By taking part in these initiatives, we enhance our scientific and educational capacities while actively shaping the future of the aluminium industry, making it more connected, skilled, and sustainable.
MOTIVATE XR
MOTIVATE XR aims to create a world-leading XR collaborative authoring, publishing, and experiencing tool suited for industrial operations, including assembly, manufacturing, maintenance, and dismantlement.
The solution will be open, tightly integrated, and highly interoperable, offering an end-to-end solution for users without programming skills. It will use portable 3D scanning, digital twin modelling, No-Code authoring approaches, and advanced AI. The project will evaluate its results in five pilots across different industrial sectors, involving top European experts and industry leaders to ensure the ethical use of XR and AI technologies.
Our pilot aims to develop an AI-driven XR remote assembly assistance system. This innovative solution will provide an immersive and interactive training experience, enabling users to master the vast array of architectural aluminium system designs. Imagine a system where AI guides you step-by-step through complex assemblies, instantly identifying errors and proposing countermeasures. It will also monitor safety in the work environment, minimising risks. With MOTIVATE XR, we’ll be able to scale our training efforts, reaching fabricators globally and ensuring consistently high-quality installations. We will be able to provide the knowledge needed for the people who need it, no matter where they are.
By leveraging the power of XR and AI, we’re not just training fabricators; we’re empowering them to build a more sustainable and efficient future.

INSIDE-CoVE
INSIDE-CoVE presents a network of Centres of Vocational Excellence in six European countries, focusing on the development of skills in the construction industry. The project aims to promote local innovation, regional development, and social inclusion through a three-layered curriculum approach.
The digital layer emphasises data, software, and hardware skills, while the green layer integrates energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. The inclusion layer focuses on promoting the welfare of the construction workforce, drawing in social groups like youth and women. The project aims to develop Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) skills at various levels and reach a wide range of learners through an innovative Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), the i-LMS platform.
Our role, as the project Coordinator and the core partner of the Greek CoVE, is to link the aluminium value chain in Greece and internationally. We aim to elevate the skills of architectural aluminium system professionals across Europe, ensuring sustainable and high-quality construction practices by bridging academic knowledge with real industry needs.
With the collaboration of 26 partners from six European countries over the next four years, we expect to contribute to empowering a more diverse and highly competent workforce and fostering regional development and innovation within the construction sector.
Remote Training XR Room
RTXRoom is an XR application developed by D-Cube to improve industrial training in the manufacturing sector. It uses 3D model interaction, multi-user collaboration, and remote expert assistance to teach complex assembly procedures. The system is integrated with XR2Learn’s Personalisation Enablers, allowing real-time content adaptation based on the user’s emotional and cognitive state.
The application will be validated at the Architectural Aluminium Academy (AAA) to train assembly teams on international aluminium frame projects. By completion, RTXRoom aims to reach TRL 8 and MRL 5.
The project is organised in three phases (Specification, Execution, Growth):
- Specification phase (duration 3 months): AAA, along with D-Cube, will build/fine-tune the application concept, perform additional development/customisation to utilise the XR2Learn technology, prepare a detailed pilot specification deliverable and a tech-business presentation.
- Execution phase (duration 7 months): We will be performing a pilot execution with real end users and validating the developed application. Delivery of open-source versions of tools and/or applications (under proper license) will also be favoured.
- Growth phase (duration 2 months): We will realise activities associated with replication analysis, promotion and exploitation of their project, aiming to engage new customers and/or partners and/or investors.

Architectural Aluminium Academy
Innovation and skills development centre for the aluminium sector with a focus on digital transformation and Industry 4.0.
The national programme ‘Centres of Excellence’ (CoE) is the founding project of the Architectural Aluminium Academy. The objectives of the project were:
- The creation of an Architectural Aluminium Competence Centre as a pole of innovation in SE Europe and beyond, attracting stakeholders from across the value chain.
- The design of a framework for the development of technical, digital, business and cross-cutting skills.
- The implementation of innovative technological solutions for stakeholder needs.
- Supporting the transformation of the country’s production model by investing in research, innovation and human and social capital.
- Exporting the know-how of the Greek architectural aluminium ecosystem abroad and establishing relationships.
