Three seminars that pave the way for the sustainable development of the construction industry

With a vision to upgrade the way buildings are designed and constructed according to the new sustainability standards, our team participated in three seminars for engineers in January, aiming to inform them about the latest trends that will determine the future of the construction industry.

On 19 January, the Technical Training Supervisor of the Academy, Mr. Nikolaos Keramidas, was one of the keynote speakers at the event “BIM & Beyond: Digital Skills & Business Opportunities for Engineers” held in Thessaloniki by the Technical Chamber of Greece – Department of Central Macedonia. The purpose of the event was to inform engineers about the new trends and technologies that are shaping the present and future of the profession, while Mr. Keramidas’ speech focused on the BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodology for energy-saving applications of frames to the building shell.

On 25 January, Mr.Keramidas participated in the workshop “Energy-saving building design, new materials and the relationship of the frame with the final performance of the shell”, which took place in Chania, Crete and was co-organized with the Technical Chamber of Greece – Department of Western Crete. The workshop focused on important issues such as the energy status of existing buildings, the standards of passive buildings, the role of proper design and construction of buildings and frames in energy saving and the relationship of new constructions with the installation and performance of frames.

On the same day, our team travelled to Larissa, where, in cooperation with the architectural office “Karavides & Partners”, organized the seminar “Fire-rated Aluminium Systems & Instructions for Frames’ Installation”, which was attended by engineers from the technical services of the Municipalities of the Regional Unit of Larissa.

Since the beginning of its operation, the Academy focuses on actions aimed at the continuous education and development of engineers, providing them with specialized knowledge on all new trends, developments and challenges in the construction industry. As the Academy’s workforce is largely comprised of engineers, our team is best suited to meeting the growing needs of engineers in the most effective way.
